i might be wrong. even the most educated amoung us are entitle to a bad day, a flawed thought or irrational conclusion. so if i am wrong with these thoughts we'll just forget that i ever expressed them, openly for all to see and critic. However, in the very likely event that i am correct, i fully expect the yellow dog democrat to buy me dinner. nothing fancy, maybe some italian or indian, and i'll even pick out the wine. but with my personal wanting for a nice dinner with the yellow dog set aside let me return to my original point. this country was formed on christian beliefs, no amount of creative historical interpritation can change that. when our founding fathers included what is commonly refered to as the 'seperation clause' they were not making an effort to remove God from our lives but rather trying to avoid problems experienced in England. with the formation of the Church of England the monarchy had the church in it's pocket. both were one and the same. the church influenced state matters and vice versa. in this great country we never experienced those problems, the president is not the head of the Church of the United States and we would never accept it. We can not allow ourselves to continue down the road of religious nulification and expect to remain a cohessive state. our country is not defined by our religion, it has always been our openness and acceptance of all peoples, races, and religions that defines who we are. by excluding those of christian faith from open worship while allowing minority religions to practice more openly and without inpediment we go against the principles that have defined us for 225 years. why are muslum children allowed to pray twice during the school day but christians are not? perhaps we should ask oursleves, when did we become ashamed to be christian? my answer is that i'm not.
sorry for grammer and spelling errors, i'm on lunch break and no time for double checking

I never said that anyone should be ashamed to be a Christian, but by the same token, I refuse to be ashamed to be a Christian and a Democrat, but not adhere to forcing my beliefs down the throats of everyone who has a set of ears. I feel that you can't deny the overwhelming view that people think Democrat=godless, Republican=righteous, and that view is crap, not to put too fine a point on it.

"that view is crap"? my my, what a well articulated point you raise. perhaps i should reconsider my position... yah, (pause for effect) i still think i'm right.
